An Ode to Black Hawk Stout

"Beer is proof that God loves us
and wants us to be happy."

BENJAMIN FRANKLIN

I discovered something important today — or at least useful. I was sketching near the pool and accidentally spilled Black Hawk Stout on my page. Before that, I had been soaking BFK Rives paper in coffee to get a tan color I like for relief prints. The stout achieved the same thing and is quicker. It was one of those happy accidents you hope for. So a proper tribute was required:

Ah, Black Hawk Stout / You are good with food / You are good with trout / Oh, Black Hawk Stout / Some even say you are good for health / Could it be / You cure the gout / Ah, Black Hawk Stout / Oh, Black Hawk Stout / Have too much and you knock me out.

The only problem is that 1 pint, 9.4 ounces of Black Hawk sells for about $3.65. I'll have to find out how many bottles it would take to fill a tub to dip a dozen sheets or so. I wonder if you can still drink the stuff afterward?

P.S. Unfortunately, cheap mass produced lagers aren't dark enough or powerful enough to do the job.
